Summary: This dissertation falls within the area of concentration in Creative Writing and is divided into two parts: the first, a work of fiction and the second, a reflective essay. Narrated in first person, the novel Antonia in the City accompanies the journey of Antonia, the protagonist, after her life changed as result of her oldest sister's su-icide. The character sees herself helpless in a large urban center, in need of solv-ing the bureaucratic issues related to her death and, at the same time, she tries to unravel the reasons that led to the tragic death of her sister. The essay follows issues related to the creative process, and proposes a reflection on the metaphor of water, a recurring element in Antonia in the City. To do so, the theories of Gaston Bachelard on the imaginary of water are used.
