Resumo: This work intends to dialogue with the literatura about the South-American democratic consolidation and redemocratizacion processes between the 1980´s and 1990´s decades. Regarding to this elementary theoretical discussion concerning the new regional democracies, it will be proposed a revision of the conceptual and analytical framework applied in the contemporary democratic studies. Recently, the analysis focuses on some spins, to the left or to the right, as also in some of their consequences and implications. Here the manly goal is to overcome any simplistic dichotomy analysis, understanding these ideological spins as a part of a more complex plot, with in bigger spins in larger periods of time, regarding their own democratic regimes density. For those reason, it would be possible a better comprehension of distinctive steps, objectives and dilemmas which faced our democracies in the past three decades and, helped us to get a better comprehension of this actual political context.
