RESUMO: No Brasil, o Enem configura-se como um modelo nacional de avaliação do ensino médio e também como exame que possibilita o acesso ao ensino superior. Considerando a relevância desse exame, este trabalho visa identificar as expectativas e motivações que levam os estudantes do Colégio Prof. João Costa, da rede pública estadual de Sergipe, a realizar o Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio. O objetivo desta investigação é desvelar as atitudes dos estudantes da referida escola ante o Enem, assim como suas expectativas enquanto participantes desse processo. Para isso, foram realizadas entrevistas com vinte inscritos no Enem 2016, antes e após a prova. Os resultados demonstram que, embora tenham expectativas de bom desempenho na avaliação, os estudantes ainda sentem necessidade de melhoria na preparação didática feita pelo colégio. Rede estadual.     ABSTRACT: In Brazil, Enem figures is as a national way of evaluating high school and also an exam which allows the entering on higher education. Considering how important is this exam, the following research aims to identify the expectations and motivations which makes students from “Colégio Professor João Costa”, which is part of state public school service, to take the Enem. The goal of the present investigation is to reveal the position of the students from that school concerning to Enem, as well as their expectations as candidates in this process. In order to obtain these data, interviews were made with 20 students enrolled for Enem 2016, before and after the test. The results demonstrate that in spite of getting expectations of good performance on evaluation, the students still have the need of better preparation coming from school. KEYWORDS: ENEM.
