Resumo: The goal of this research was to investigate what are the resources and needs of parents of preschool children with special educational needs. The participants were eleven parents of children with special educational needs included in pre-elementary school. Most parents had purchasing power medium to medium low. To meet the objectives, parents filled in the “Inventory of Home Environment Resources - RAF” and “Questionnaire on the needs of families - QNF. The results enabled the RAF to note that this study the majority of children with special educational needs and has a stimulating home environment, whereas the mothers accompanied their children in school affairs and the maintenance of a routine to perform activities, and receive care through resource rooms (41.6%) and in the care of APAE (25.0%). the data obtained by QNF parents need help to: (a) to obtain more information about services and supports that your child may benefit in the future, (b) meet regularly with appropriate persons, as professionals, to talk on the child’s disability, (c) explain the child’s other children, friends and neighbors, (d) find social support services and educational for the child, (e) pay expenses and (f) to discuss problems and find solutions.

Participaram da pesquisa 12 pais de crianças com NEE incluídas em pré-escolas. A maioria dos pais tinha poder aquisitivo médio a médio baixo. Para responder aos objetivos, os pais preencheram ao “Inventário de Recursos do Ambiente Familiar – RAF” e o “Questionário sobre as necessidades das famílias – QNF. Os resultados obtidos com o RAF possibilitaram notar que nesta pesquisa a maioria das crianças com NEE possui um ambiente familiar bem estimulador, considerando que as mães acompanhavam os filhos nos afazeres da escola e na manutenção de uma rotina para realizar atividades, além de receber atendimentos por meio das salas de recursos (41,6%) e nos atendimentos da APAE (25,0%). Em relação aos dados obtidos pelo QNF os pais necessitam de ajuda para: (a) obterem maiores informações sobre serviços e apoios de que seu filho poderá beneficiar-se no futuro; (b) se encontrarem regularmente com pessoas adequadas, como profissionais, para falar sobre a deficiência do filho; (c) explicarem a situação do filho a outras crianças, amigos e vizinhos; (d) encontrarem serviços de apoio social e educativo para o filho; (e) pagarem despesas e (f) discutirem problemas e encontrar soluções.
