Resumo: This article discusses the role of design in society, viewing the profession as a trainer of material culture, responsible for producing products and meanings and encouraging consumption. From that, faced with the paradigm of design, where we need to rethink and broaden the professional focus projetual, compared to the economic, social and especially environmental.
