Inconvenient lives: Marielle Franco and colonial dispositive

Resumo: The murder of Marielle Franco, in March 2018, represented a severe blow to Brazilian democracy and the repercussion of this crime divided the Brazilian population. Marielle Franco's life trajectory and her struggles as a militant in defense of black women, Transgender people and populations living in shanty towns in the city of Rio de Janeiro challenged the structures of the colonial device. She strongly criticized patriarchy structures and public security police. This article proposes to analyze, from the studies of Foucault's discourse and decolonial discussions, how Marielle Franco made visible a series of enunciation that contest the colonial dispositive in Brazil. I took as main corpus of analysis her master's dissertation, defended in 2014 and an interview given by her to the Subjetiva website in 2017.
