Resumo: This text sets forth the results of a study aimed at analyzing data on the youth participating in the Urban Youth Program, comparing this data with statistics on the general characteristics of the 16 to 21 year old population in the cities of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, where the Program is carried out, as well as in Brazil. The study concludes that the Program selects participants with similar profiles in both cities, who typically live in regions of high socio-economic vulnerability.
