Summary: The brazilian authoritarian regime did not survive the third wave of democratization that brought democracy as a real possibility. Thus, the civil-military dictatorship, although havinglegal provisions forrepressing those who could rise up against the regime, especially in the “Years of Lead”, had a wide range of social movements and organizations that have made them strong opposition. This article seeks to analyze empirically, through qualitative data, how women placed themselves in the public arena during the Brazilian democratic transition from a feminist approach, between 1975 and 1988
