Yield of cultivars and breeding lines of wheat, and some anatomical and physiologicat characters

Resumo: Correlation coefficients between grain yield, hectoliter weight, 1,000-kemel weight, days to heading, days from heading to maturity, and wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) plant height, were calculated from 857 readings recorded from 35 wheat variety trials, planted during three years at Indápolis, MS, Brazil. Positive correlation coefficients were found between grain yield and 1,000-kemel weight, and between grain yield and plant height. Significant correlations were also found between plant height and 1,000-kemel weight. Low even significant correlation coefficients were found between grain yield and hectoliter weight. Other correlations were very little consistent.

Other correlations were very little consistent. Foram determinados coeficientes de correlação entre rendimento de grãos, peso do hectolitro, peso de mil sementes, dias da emergência ao espigamento, dias do espigamento à maturação e altura de planta no trigo (Triticum aestivum L.). Usaram-se 857 observações feitas em 35 ensaios de cultivares e linhagens, conduzidos durante três anos em lndápolis, MS. Foram encontrados coeficientes positivos e significativos entre o rendimento de grãos e peso de mil sementes e entre o rendimento de grãos e a altura de planta. Também foram verificados coeficientes significativos entre a altura de planta e o peso de mil sementes. Foi verificada correlação baixa e significativa entre o rendimento de grãos e o peso do hectolitro.
