Resumo: The present work has as deep question of understanding which the paper of the environmental education in a crisis context, nominated, socio-environmental where we are inserted. It is treated to rescue the environment conception and of man who we believe it must permeate a proposal of critical and complex environmental education. In this movement the contribution of the readings of Edgar Morin is vital, rank that the same deepens the quarrel concerning ontological questions, knowledge and sociological basic for the agreement of the present moment and its historical roots, when leading the complexity the paradigm status. The necessary environmental education to assume the commitment with creativity, the critical one, the participation, solidarity so that it fulfills its paper of constitution of a society that based on other values, other dreams, other possibilities.

Trata-se de resgatar a concepção de ambiente e de homem que acreditamos deve permear uma proposta de educação ambiental crítica e complexa. Nesse movimento é vital a contribuição das leituras de Edgar Morin, posto que o mesmo aprofunda a discussão acerca de questões ontológicas, epistêmicas e sociológicas fundamentais para o entendimento do momento presente e suas raízes históricas, ao elevar a complexidade ao status de paradigma.
