Resumo: The article analyzes the interchangeable signs between the verbal and the iconic in Brazilian soap opera openings, emphasizing the magnifying of the written space, which implies an aesthetic challenge. An intersemiotic reading investigates creative practices that integrate visual and verbal signs, departing from graphic computer devices. There is also an attempt to sketch the fundamental theoretic concepts about media textualities. Another objective is to question the kinetic form exploitation in words and letters, as well as their chromatic nuances and textures that very often fall short (are inferior) if compared to the inventive treatment to the images per se.

Una lectura intersemiótica investiga prácticas creativas que integran signos verbales y visuales, a partir de los recursos de la computación gráfica. Se busca también delinear los conceptos teóricos fundamentales sobre las textualidades mediáticas. Otro objetivo es cuestionar la exploración de formas cinéticas en palabras y letras, sus texturas y matices cromáticos que, no raramente, quedan por debajo del tratamiento inventivo dado a las imágenes en sí.O artigo aborda os signos intercambiantes entre o verbal e o icônico, em vinhetas de abertura de telenovelas brasileiras, com ênfase na ampliação do espaço da escrita, o que se configura como um desafio estético.
