Resumo: The paper intends to reflect about the notably media’s discourse production about the Central Presidium of Porto Alegre and its discontinuous, multiple and complex social settings which are producer and mediator of the speech. Whereas this paper, in particular, analyses the news coverage of the largest communication network in the Southern of Brazil, since 2008, which deal with the Central Prison of Porto Alegre. Also, investigates the whole dialogic aspects that are articulated between media and society around the problematic prison and its consequences, particularly in formulating speeches riddled with punitive motivations and deniers of Human Rights.

Con vistas en especial las coberturas periodísticas de la mayor red de comunicación del sur de Brasil, a partir del año 2008, que versan sobre el Presidio Central de Porto Alegre, se investiga el conjunto dialógico que articula sociedad y medios en torno a la problemática prisional y sus desdoblamientos, notadamente en la formulación de discursos eivados de motivaciones punitivas y negadoras de los Derechos Humanos.O artigo abaixo se propõe a problematizar a produção do discurso notadamente midiático acerca do Presídio Central e suas relações descontínuas, múltiplas e complexas com as configurações sociais produtoras e mediadoras deste discurso.
