Resumo: This dissertation addresses the housing theme in Portugal, especially for young individuals initiating labour activities. This theme will be studied on two fronts. At an economic level, the prices of houses and rentals have significantly increased. However, the salaries of young adults are not accompanying this raising of prices. Thus, making it challenging for young people to find affordable housing. At a social level, the current society has faced considerable social changes, which are not being answered by the housing that has been constructed. Therefore, it is possible to affirm that the current housing does not meet the needs of a rapidly changing society. Considering the lack of architectonical answers to this challenge, the present dissertation proposes solutions by exploring co-housing models and space flexibility, through the reading of its interrelations. For this purpose, we intended to develop a housing project that reflects these principles, through research that involved a theoretical revision of themes and concepts addressed, and research of cohousing examples and existing projects. The proposed project is located in the Bonfim area, in Porto, and it is intended to be a model of flexible cohousing. For the development of this project, a preliminary draft for the block where the project is inserted was also conceived. Accordingly, the presented project has the main goal of finding answers to the current housing problem, through a flexible cohousing, which can promote an environment of collaborative living environment while being adaptive to the residents' needs and particularities.
