COMPARISON OF THE CONCEPTS OF “LIFELONG LEARNING” AND “LIFELONG EDUCATION

Resumo: In this theoretical essay, a comparison was made between the concepts of Lifelong Education and Lifelong Learning. We sought to use the concepts in reports that impacted education worldwide and its genesis in Confintea. As already reported by other researchers internationally, there is a misuse of one concept as a synonym for the other. It is suggested that these concepts differ in defense of humanistic training or in the development of holistic conditions for the consolidation of learning and the development of human capital. It is understood as necessary to be clear about the concept of Lifelong Learning, already present in the Law of Directives and Bases No. 9394/1996 through the amendment of Law No. 13632/2018, and widely disseminated at an international level. This conceptual precision can help all researchers and scholars on the subject to develop research, teaching and extension in line with their own theoretical interests. At the end, there is a comparative table and suggestions.

Buscamos utilizar los conceptos en informes que impactaron la educación en todo el mundo y su génesis en Confintea. Como ya han informado otros investigadores a nivel internacional, existe un mal uso de un concepto como sinónimo del otro. Se sugiere que estos conceptos difieren en la defensa de la formación humanística o en el desarrollo de condiciones holísticas para la consolidación del aprendizaje y el desarrollo del capital humano. Se entiende necesario tener claro el concepto de Aprendizaje a lo Largo de toda la Vida, ya presente en la Ley de Directivas y Bases N ° 9394/1996 mediante la modificación de la Ley N ° 13632/2018, y ampliamente difundido a nivel internacional. Esta precisión conceptual puede ayudar a todos los investigadores y estudiosos del tema a desarrollar la investigación, la docencia y la extensión de acuerdo con sus propios intereses teóricos. Al final, hay una tabla comparativa y sugerencias.Neste ensaio teórico foi realizada a comparação entre os conceitos de Educação ao Longo da Vida e Aprendizagem ao Longo da Vida. Buscou-se o uso dos conceitos em relatórios que impactaram a educação mundialmente e sua gênese nas Confintea. Como já relatado por outros pesquisadores internacionalmente, há um uso equivocado de um conceito como sinônimo do outro. Sugere-se que esses conceitos se diferenciam em defesa de uma formação humanística ou no desenvolvimento de condições holísticas para a consolidação da própria aprendizagem e desenvolvimento do capital humano. Entende-se como necessário ter clareza acerca do conceito de Aprendizagem ao Longo da Vida, já presente na Lei de Diretrizes e Bases nº 9394/1996 por meio da emenda da Lei nº 13632/2018, e amplamente divulgado em âmbito internacional. Essa precisão conceitual poderá ajudar a todos os pesquisadores e estudiosos do tema a desenvolvem pesquisa, ensino e extensão alinhados aos próprios interesses teóricos.
