PERSISTENT SEROLOGICAL REACTIONS IN BUFFALO HEIFERS (Bubalus bubalis) VACCINATED WITH Brucella abortas STRAIN 19

Resumo: The evolution of serological titers of buffalo heifers (Bubalus bubalis) vaccinated with standard dose of Brucella abortus strain 19 was studied. Blood samples collected monthly for a period of ten months tested by three serological tests showed that the antibody curves produced in this species were similar to those of bovinas. The animais reacted for 270 days after vaccination and at 300 days ali were negativos.  Key words: brucellosis, buffalo, strain 19, antibody.

Foi estudada a evolução dos títulos sorológicos em fêmeas bubalinas (Bubalus bubalis) vacinadas com dose padrão da amostra 19 de Brucella abortus. Após coletas mensais de sangue por um período de dez meses de observação e usando-se três provas sorológicas, concluíu-se que as curvas de anticorpos nesta espécie foram similares às produzidas na espécie bovina.
