Resumo: In this paper, we analyze the presence of irony in two minifictions of brazilian writer Dalton Trevisan: “A boneca” and “Emiliano redivivo”. Each flash fiction has an ironic construction in which it enhances the characteristic of texts and their ability to potentiate condensed and synthetic senses. Irony, in itself, is already a polysemous resource that produces at least two distinct meanings at the same time. Moreover, Dalton Trevisan’s writing, marked by the construction of ultra short narratives, values the objectivity and power of condensation that makes the literary discourse even more permeated by multiples meanings. Thus, the understanding of the manifestations of irony in the author’s writings constitutes a reading key that contributes to the understanding the genre of minifiction and its manifestation in the Dalton Trevisan’s works. We also highlight the role of irony in the criticism of Curitiba society and the perception of violence, recurrent contents in the work of Dalton Trevisan. Finally, we use the method of literary analysis through the perspective of structural reduction, relating the use of irony in the stories with a reading of brazilian reality.

Cada ministória apresenta uma construção irônica em que a incidência da ironia intensifica a característica condensada e sintética dos textos e sua capacidade de potencializar sentidos. A ironia, em si mesma, já se constitui em um recurso polissêmico que produz, no mínimo, dois sentidos distintos em um mesmo dizer. Além disso, a escrita de Dalton Trevisan, marcada pela construção de narrativas ultracurtas, preza a objetividade e o poder de condensação que fazem com que o discurso literário seja ainda mais permeado pela multiplicidade de sentidos. Assim, a compreensão das várias manifestações da ironia na escrita do autor constitui-se em chave de leitura que contribui para a compreensão do gênero da minificção e sua manifestação na escrita deste escritor. Também destacamos o papel da ironia na crítica da sociedade curitibana e da percepção da violência, conteúdos recorrentes na obra de Dalton Trevisan.
