Resumo: The present study intends to analyze the existence of the orthogonality between orientations called tasks and ego in the Perception of Success Questionnaire in Sport validated in Portugal, adapted to use with Brazilian athletes. It was used the Perception of Success Questionnaire (POSQ) in the version validated in Portugal (Fonseca and Brito, 2001). The sample was constituted by 465 handball athletes who participated in competitions in the State ambit and Mercosul, with an age average of 14,8±1,6 years old. The Exploratory Factorial Analysis was able to identify the existence of two factors called Task and Ego. The Perception of Success Questionnaire in Sport, as well as in the original studies, presented as an efficient instrument to be used in the orientation goals evaluation for Brazilian athletes.

Department of Physical Education - State University of Maringá (UEM), Maringá-PR, Brazil2008-05-15info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/RevEducFis/article/view/3383Journal of Physical Education; Vol 16 No 2 (2005)Journal of Physical Education; Vol. 16 Núm. 2 (2005)Journal of Physical Education; v. 16 n. 2 (2005)2448-2455reponame:Journal of Physical Education (Maringá)instname:Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM)instacron:UEMporhttps://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/RevEducFis/article/view/3383/2425Copetti, FernandoFonseca, Paulo Henrique Santos daSouza, Marco A. deSouza, Adriano M.info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2023-01-10T15:37:11Zoai:periodicos.uem.br/ojs:article/3383Revistahttp://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/RevEducFis/indexPUBhttps://old.scielo.br/oai/scielo-oai.php||revdef@uem.br2448-24552448-2455opendoar:2023-01-10T15:37:11Journal of Physical Education (Maringá) - Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM)false
