Emergency remote education and higher education: an experience in the Education course

Resumo: The new coronavirus pandemic required some readjustment of educational institutions aiming at keeping social distancing. Due to the impossibility of gathering students in their classrooms, higher education institutions (HEI) had to adopt emergency remote activities mediated by digital technologies. This study is a teaching experience report in a non-profit HEI in a municipality of the Northwestern region in the state of Parana during the health crisis, in which the resources used were: Virtual Learning Environments (VLE), web conference, podcasts, videos/documentaries and WahtsApp. Considering the particularities of the circumstances, sharing this experience aims to contribute with reflections upon the type of education offered during the pandemic. The results revealed that the experience contributed to the students’ academic and personal development, to the teaching practice and to the maturity of the institution, confirming the educational gain through the use of Education and Communication Digital Technologies.

Delante de la imposibilidad de encuentros presenciales, las Instituciones de Enseñanza Superior (IES) que se dedicaban a la enseñanza presencial tuvieron de adoptar actividades remotas en carácter emergencial, mediadas por tecnologías digitales. Este trabajo se caracteriza como un relato de experiencia de docencia en una IES sin fines lucrativos de una ciudad del noroeste paranaense, durante la crisis sanitaria, en que los recursos utilizados son: Ambientes Virtuales de Aprendizaje, webconferencia, podcasts, vídeos/documentales y WhatsApp. Considerando la singularidad de las circunstancias, al socializar la experiencia, se pretende contribuir con las reflexiones sobre la educación ofertada en la pandemia. Se concluye que la experiencia contribuyó con el desarrollo académico y personal de los alumnos, con la práctica docente y con la maduración de la institución, reiterando el gano educacional por el uso de las Tecnologías Digitales de Información y Comunicación.  O contexto decorrente da pandemia do novo coronavírus demandou uma readaptação das instituições de ensino, com vistas à manutenção do distanciamento social. Diante da impossibilidade de encontros presenciais, as Instituições de Ensino Superior (IES) que se dedicavam ao ensino presencial tiveram de adotar atividades remotas em caráter emergencial, mediadas por tecnologias digitais. Este trabalho caracteriza-se como um relato de experiência de docência em uma IES sem fins lucrativos de uma cidade no noroeste paranaense durante a crise sanitária, em que os recursos utilizados são Ambientes Virtuais de Aprendizagem, webconferência, podcasts, vídeos/documentários e WhatsApp. Considerando a singularidade das circunstâncias, ao socializar a experiência, pretende-se contribuir com as reflexões sobre a educação ofertada na pandemia.
