São Bernardo do Campo, 2022Este trabalho tem como objetivo principal aproximar as concepções de linguagem presentes nas Investigações Filosóficas de Ludwig Wittgenstein e em escritos diversos de Blaise Pascal. Para isso, estabelecemos um vínculo inicial partir da constatação de ambos os autores de que a indeterminação constitutiva das palavras não pode ser dirimida em detrimento a um ideal fixo da linguagem. A partir desse paralelo inicial, encontramos outros pontos de contato significativos nas reflexões de ambos os filósofos, que vão desde a observação de que toda linguagem se situa sempre no interior de determinadas circunstâncias até a impossibilidade de se conceber um método que se pretenda unívoco no domínio do conhecimento. O percurso nos permitiu avançar ainda na compreensão do que chamamos de "dissociação entre linguagem e ontologia", ainda que com argumentações construídas sobre horizontes filosóficos tão distintos. Como parte do resultado de nosso trabalho, pretendemos demonstrar que Pascal antecipou algumas reflexões sobre certeza, verdade e significado que se tornariam centrais na obra madura de Wittgenstein.The main objective of the present work is to construct a parallel between the conception of language in Ludwig Wittgenstein's Philosophical Investigations and the work of Blaise Pascal. To this end we establish an initial connection between the observation of both authors that it is not possible to abandon the constitutive indeterminacy of words to the detriment of a fixed ideal of language. From this initial parallel we find other significant points of contact in the reflections of both philosophers, ranging from the observation that language is always situated within certain circumstances to the impossibility of conceiving a method that intends to be univocal in the domain of knowledge. This path allows us to advance in the understanding of what we call "the dissociation between language and ontology", although with arguments built within very different horizons.
