The social care network of a child with special health needs

Resumo: | doi: 10.5216/ree.v15i2.17064 - http://dx.doi.org/10.5216/ree.v15i2.17064 ABSTRACT The objective of this qualitative study was to describe the social care network of a child with special health needs. The study participants were the child’s grandparents, randomly selected from a prior study’s database. The Sensitive Creative Method was developed by means of the Talking Map Creativity and Sensitivity Dynamics, and then submitted to Discourse Analysis, according to the French School. The results showed that the child’s relatives have a fragmented but solidary social network comprised of secondary-level and tertiary-level heath services; that the technology-dependent child is ignored by the Unified Health System, as they are invisible in the primary health care network. It is concluded that the child’s relatives find support on services that provide care to the child, and the familiar network is limited to the closest relatives. Nursing should promote the creation of networks and improve accessibility to health care for these children. Descriptors: Child Health; Pediatric Nursing; Chronic Disease; Child Care. |

Participaron de la investigación los abuelos de un niño, sorteados del banco de datos de otra investigación. Se desarrolló el Método Creativo Sensible mediante la Dinámica de Creatividad y Sensibilidad Mapa Hablante, sometida luego a Análisis de Discurso según corriente francesa. Los resultados expresaron que los familiares del niño tienen una red social fragmentada y solitaria, constituida por servicios de salud secundarios y terciarios; que el niño dependiente de tecnologías es marginado del Sistema Único de Salud, permaneciendo invisible para la red primaria. Se concluye en que los familiares se apoyan en los servicios que prestan cuidados al niño, que la red familiar está restringida a los familiares más próximos. Se sugiere que la Enfermería posibilite la formación de redes sociales y el acceso a la atención de salud de dichos niños. Os participantes da pesquisa foram os avós de uma criança, sorteados a partir do banco de dados de uma pesquisa. O Método Criativo Sensível foi desenvolvido por meio da Dinâmica de Criatividade e Sensibilidade Mapa Falante posteriormente submetida à Análise de Discurso em sua corrente francesa. Os resultados apontaram que os familiares da criança possuem uma rede social fragmentada e solitária constituída por serviços de saúde de nível secundário e terciário; que a criança dependente de tecnologia é marginalizada no Sistema Único de Saúde, sendo invisíveis na rede primária. Conclui-se que os familiares da criança apoiam-se nos serviços que prestam cuidados a criança, que a rede familial está restrita aos familiares mais próximos. Sugere-se que a enfermagem possibilite a formação de redes e o acesso à assistência em saúde dessas crianças.
