Resumo: To evaluate the prevalence of cervical HPV genotypes a prospective study was carried out on 104 HIV-infected patients. HPV was found in 87 patients (83,6%). The most prevalent genotypes were 6 (47.1%) and 16 (47.1%). Sixty biopsies were performed, from which 35 cases of Lo SIL (58,3%) and 11 cases of Hi SIL (18,3%) were diagnosed. Type 6 was associated with low-grade lesions (p<0.05) and type 33 was associated with high-grade lesions (p<0,05). This multivariate analysis did not demonstrate differences, showing that viral genotypes effects are independent, or in other words, there is no interaction between them.
