Resumo: The article seeks to study the joints of republican government installed in Pernambuco in 1817 with the US government, through his emissaries, among them Antonio Gonçalves da Cruz (Cabugá), who spared no efforts to sign important agreements for the benefit of the young republic installed in Northern Brazil.
