Resumo: The objective of this work is to present a coherent research approach with the nature of nursing, integrating research and care as complementary elements to nurses’ performance. It states the assumptions and includes the proposed stages by the researchcare method: 1. Approach the study phenomenon; 2. Meet the studied-cared being; 3. Establishment of the research-theory-practice connections; 4. Distance from the studied-cared being; 5 Analysis of the apprehended. It demonstrates the applicability of the method in different contexts of the nursing professional exercise, assisting the validation and consolidation of the method.

Explica los supuestos e incluye la etapas propuestas por el método de pesquisa-cuidado: 1. Aproximación con el fenómeno de estudio; 2. Encuentro con el ser pesquisadocuidado; 3. Establecimiento de las conexiones pesquisa-teoría-práctica; 4. Alejamiento del ser pesquisado-cuidado; 5. Análisis de lo aprendido. Demostra la aplicabilidad del método en diferentes contextos del ejercicio profesional del enfermero en el sentido de auxiliar en la validez y consolidación del método.O objetivo deste trabalho é apresentar uma abordagem de pesquisa coerente com a natureza da enfermagem, integrando a pesquisa e cuidado como elementos complementares à atuação do enfermeiro.
