Resumo: This article aims to discuss the discourses of hate and intolerance in digital social networks, through bibliographic and documentary research, anchored in critical social theory. It takes the internet as the locus of speeches and asks: to what extent does hatred and intolerance in digital social networks constitute a risk in the face of the democratic rule of law? It is understood that the internet is a contradictory space, and this has a lot to do with the functioning of the data and information selection mechanisms used by platforms such as Google or Facebook. It is evident that the intensive use of digital social networks is contributing to the formation of profiles marked by intolerance and radicalism. The analysis shows that digital social networks are a threat to the democratic rule of law.

The analysis shows that digital social networks are a threat to the democratic rule of law.O artigo objetiva discutir os discursos de ódio e intolerância nas redes sociais digitais, por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, ancorada na teoria social crítica.
