Resumo: Physical fitness should be considered as a health marker already in childhood and adolescence, reinforcing the need to include physical fitness tests in health monitoring systems. The objective of this study was to evaluate the physical fitness related to health (ApFRS) of young people from a School in the city of Canoas, Rio Grande do Sul. Eighty five children and adolescents from nine to 15 years of age in both genders participated in the study. The instrument used to evaluate the ApFRS was the tests proposed by the Projeto Esporte Brasil (BMI, cardiorespiratory fitness (ApC), flexibility (FLEX), muscle strength / endurance (FML). We observed that approximately ¼ of the children and adolescents are in the health risk zone, a framework that deserves attention on the part of the Physical Education School teachers. Among the evaluated variables, the observed low ApC is observed, in which the girls perform inferiorly to the boys (56 vs. 79%, respectively) and also to the BMI values in which ⅓ of them are in the ZR.

2018Saúde (Santa Maria); Revista Saúde (Santa Maria), Vol.44, n.2, maio-ago. 20182236-58340103-4499reponame:Saúde (Santa Maria)instname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMporhttps://periodicos.ufsm.br/revistasaude/article/view/32767/pdfCopyright (c) 2018 Saúde (Santa Maria)info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessVian, FernandoPedretti, AugustoGaya, AdroaldoReis Gaya, AneliseVolkweis Junior, José Miguel2020-05-14T20:43:47Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/32767Revistahttps://periodicos.ufsm.br/revistasaudePUBhttps://periodicos.ufsm.br/revistasaude/oairevistasaude.ufsm@gmail.com || amanda.revsaude@gmail.com || beatriz.revsaude@gmail.com2236-58342236-5834opendoar:2020-05-14T20:43:47Saúde (Santa Maria) - Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)false
