Este artigo pretende discutir as relações entre biografia e arte, numa tentativa de aproximar as relações entre verdade e ficção, presentes no estatuto social da fotografia. O parâmetro da análise está centrado na contribuição dos artistas Duane Michals e Alair Gomes neste direcionamento. Em ambas as poéticas, percebe-se o interesse dos artistas na construção de narrativas imagéticas fragmentárias, sobrepondo elementos ficcionais a questões de ordem autobiográfica. ABSTRACT This article intends discussing the relations between biography and art in an attempt of approaching the relations between truth and fiction, present in the social statute of photography. The analysis parameter is centered in the contribution of artists Duane Michals and Alair Gomes in this direction. Within both poetics, one perceives the artists´ interest in the construction of fragmented imagery narratives by placing fictional elements above issues of biographical referral.
