Resumo: The way the handbooks deal with method does not bring into consideration the ontologic, epistemologic and gnoseologic characteristics. In fact, it means the annihilation of sociology as a whole science and it is clearly evident on the reduction of science to method. This emptiness implies the superevaluation of method and the consequent devaluation of sociology as a scientific investment.
