Resumo: The objective was to develop and verify the content validity and reliability of an instrument that proposes to assess the levels of food literacy in adolescents. The test and retest was conducted with 60 participants to estimate reliability. The instrument developed was called Adolescent Food Literacy (ALE). The content validity analysis was conducted by a team of experts. Then, the instrument reliability (Cronbach's alpha/internal consistency) and test-retest (simple Kappa) were checked. After evaluation by the expert committee, the instrument was considered valid as to its content. Subsequently, it was recommended that the instrument be applied to evaluate the other proposed qualities. The results achieved were discussed again with the committee of experts, interviewers, and authors of the "LAA" instrument, who judged the instrument apt to be used in the remaining stages of the evaluations, with no need for changes, in the final version presented. The instrument was applied to 60 adolescents, of which 34 (56.7%) were male, with a mean age of 14.6 years and a prevalence of brown skin color/race (n=45 / 75%). With regard to the estimate of reliability, the internal consistency or Cronbach's alpha estimated was 0.82. As for the reproducibility, it was verified that among the 54 questions of the instrument, only two obtained a Kappa lower than 0.60. Thus, the LAA instrument showed good application and easy understanding, good standards of reliability and content validity.

Se ha realizado la prueba y el test con 60 participantes, para la estimación de la fiabilidad. El instrumento desarrollado se llamó Adolescent Food Literacy (ALE). El análisis de la validez del contenido fue realizado por un equipo de expertos. A continuación, se verificó la fiabilidad del instrumento (alfa de Cronbach/consistencia interna) y el test-retest (Kappa simple). Tras la evaluación del comité de expertos, el instrumento se consideró válido en cuanto a su contenido. Posteriormente, se recomendó la aplicación del instrumento para evaluar las demás cualidades propuestas. Los resultados obtenidos se discutieron de nuevo con el comité de expertos, entrevistadores y autores del instrumento "LAA", quienes juzgaron el instrumento apto para ser utilizado en las restantes etapas de las evaluaciones, sin necesidad de cambios, en la versión final presentada. El instrumento se aplicó a 60 adolescentes, de los cuales 34 (56,7%) eran varones, con una edad media de 14,6 años y con una prevalencia de raza/color de piel marrón (n= 45 / 75%). En cuanto a la estimación de la fiabilidad, la consistencia interna o alfa de Cronbach estimada fue de 0,82. En cuanto a la reproducibilidad, se verificó que entre las 54 preguntas del instrumento, sólo dos obtuvieron Kappa inferior a 0,60. Así pues, el instrumento LAA mostró una buena aplicación y una fácil comprensión, así como buenos niveles de fiabilidad y validez de contenido.Objetivou-se desenvolver e verificar a validade de conteúdo e a confiabilidade de um instrumento que propõe avaliar os níveis de letramento alimentar de adolescentes. Realizou-se o teste e o reteste com 60 participantes, para a estimativa da confiabilidade. O instrumento desenvolvido foi denominado de Letramento Alimentar de Adolescentes (LAA). A análise da validade de conteúdo foi conduzida por uma equipe de especialistas. Em seguida foi realizada a verificação da confiabilidade do instrumento (alfa de Cronbach/consistência interna) e teste-reteste (Kappa simples). Após avaliação do comitê de especialistas, o instrumento foi considerado válido quanto ao seu conteúdo. Na sequência recomendou-se a aplicação do instrumento para avaliar as outras qualidades propostas. Os resultados alcançados foram discutidos novamente com o comitê de especialistas, entrevistadores e autores do instrumento “LAA”, que julgaram o instrumento apto para ser utilizado nas demais etapas das avaliações, sem necessidade de mudanças, na versão final apresentada. O instrumento foi aplicado em 60 adolescentes, destes 34 (56,7%) eram do sexo masculino, com média de idade de 14,6 anos e com prevalência da raça/cor da pele parda (n= 45 / 75%). No que diz respeito à estimativa da confiabilidade, a consistência interna ou alfa de Cronbach estimado foi de 0,82. Quanto à reprodutibilidade, verificou-se que dentre as 54 perguntas do instrumento, apenas duas obtiveram Kappa inferior a 0,60.
