Resumo: | The presence of a nurse in school environments brings continuous improvements in health education processes, provides a better quality in child health care, as well as a sense of security for other professionals working in these units. However, even with the enactment of Law No. 1,616 of 2011, which requires the presence of the professional nurse in school environments, the performance of this professional in this environment is scarce. To investigate the presence of nurses in public schools and day care centers in the rural area of Imperatriz -MA. Documentary, descriptive research with a quantitative approach carried out in the rural area of the municipality of Imperatriz - MA. For data collection. A consultation was carried out at the Municipal Secretary of Education (SEMED) of the municipality of Imperatriz. Collection of information related to the total number of municipal schools and day care centers, address, area, village, number of students and the presence of the professional nurse at the school or day care center. The municipality of Imperatriz has 127 municipal school units. Of these 100 are located in urban areas and 27 in rural areas. The school units in the rural area include a total of 2646 students. It was observed that no school unit has the presence of a nursing professional in the school. It brings a reflection on the importance of the role of the nurse professional in these spaces. |

Sin embargo, aún con la sanción de la Ley N° 1.616 de 2011, que exige la presencia del profesional de enfermería en los ambientes escolares, la actuación de este profesional en ese ambiente es escasa. Investigar la presencia de enfermeras en las escuelas públicas y guarderías del área rural de Imperatriz -MA. Investigación documental, descriptiva con enfoque cuantitativo realizada en el área rural del municipio de Imperatriz - MA. Para la recopilación de datos. Se realizó una consulta en la Secretaría Municipal de Educación (SEMED) del municipio de Imperatriz. Recopilación de información relacionada con el número total de escuelas y guarderías municipales, dirección, zona, localidad, número de alumnos y presencia del profesional de enfermería en la escuela o guardería. El municipio de Imperatriz cuenta con 127 unidades escolares municipales. De estos 100 están ubicados en áreas urbanas y 27 en áreas rurales. Las unidades escolares de la zona rural cuentan con un total de 2646 alumnos. Se observó que ninguna unidad escolar cuenta con la presencia de un profesional de enfermería en la escuela. Plantea una reflexión sobre la importancia del papel del profesional de enfermería en estos espacios.A presença de um enfermeiro em ambientes escolares traz melhorias contínuas nos processos de educação em saúde, proporciona uma melhor qualidade na assistência à saúde infantil, assim como uma sensação de segurança aos demais profissionais atuantes nestas unidades. Entretanto, mesmo com a instituição da lei Nº 1.616 de 2011, que apresenta a obrigatoriedade da presença do profissional enfermeiro em ambientes escolares, nota-se escassa a atuação deste profissional neste ambiente. Desta forma, objetivo desta pesquisa foi investigar a presença de enfermeiros em escolas e creches da rede pública da zona rural de Imperatriz –MA. Foi realizada uma pesquisa documental, descritiva com abordagem quantitativa realizada na zona rural do município de Imperatriz - MA. Para coleta de dados foi realizada uma consulta na Secretária Municipal de Educação (SEMED) do município de Imperatriz. A coleta de informações relacionadas ao número total de escolas e creches municipais, endereço, zona, povoado, quantitativo de alunos e presença do profissional enfermeiro na escola ou creche. Como resultados, o município de Imperatriz apresenta 127 unidades escolares municipais. Destas 100 estão localizadas na zona urbana e 27 na zona rural. As unidades escolares da zona rural contemplam um total de 2646 alunos. Observou-se que nenhuma unidade escolar apresenta a presença do profissional de enfermagem na escola.
