Knowledge of the nursing team of a long stay institution regarding care for elderly patients with Alzheimer in the municipality of Vitória da Conquista - Bahia

Resumo: | Alzheimer's disease presents itself as a form of dementia that affects the elderly and greatly compromises their physical, mental and social integrity, resulting in the need for increasingly complex care. The present work proposes to verify the knowledge of the nursing team of a long-stay institution regarding the care of the elderly with Alzheimer's, guided by the questioning of the knowledge of the nursing team regarding the care of the elderly with Alzheimer's. This is an exploratory, descriptive, cross-sectional study with a qualitative approach, carried out among nursing professionals, including nurses, nursing technicians and nursing assistants, working within a Long Stay Intuition for the elderly, in the municipality of Vitória da Conquista - BA. The socio-economic-demographic conditions of the participants were investigated through a qualitative analysis, and according to the Bardin model, the knowledge of Nursing professionals regarding AD, as well as the way in which they apply Nursing care were evaluated. It appears that the nursing team has knowledge about the needs inherent in the care of patients with AD It was possible to conclude that there is a need for nursing to have technical-scientific knowledge to perform the necessary and specific care for patients patients with AD, thus favoring the distinction of complications and allowing the planning of care strategies. The research respected the ethical precepts contained in resolutions nº 466/12 and 510/2016 of the National Health Council. |

El presente trabajo se propone verificar el conocimiento del equipo de enfermería de una institución de larga estancia sobre el cuidado de ancianos con Alzheimer, guiado por el cuestionamiento del conocimiento del equipo de enfermería sobre el cuidado de ancianos con Alzheimer. Se trata de un estudio exploratorio, descriptivo, transversal, con enfoque cualitativo, realizado entre profesionales de enfermería, incluidos enfermeros, técnicos de enfermería y auxiliares de enfermería, que actúan en una Intuición de Larga Estancia para ancianos, en el municipio de Vitória da Conquista - BA. Las condiciones socioeconómicas-demográficas de los participantes fueron investigadas a través de un análisis cualitativo y, según el modelo de Bardin, se evaluó el conocimiento de los profesionales de Enfermería sobre el EA, así como la forma en que aplican los cuidados de Enfermería. Aparentemente el equipo de enfermería tiene conocimiento sobre las necesidades inherentes al cuidado de los pacientes con EA Se pudo concluir que existe la necesidad de que enfermería tenga conocimientos técnico-científicos para realizar los cuidados necesarios y específicos a los pacientes con EA, favoreciendo así la distinción de complicaciones y permitiendo la planificación de estrategias de atención. La investigación respetó los preceptos éticos contenidos en las resoluciones nº 466/12 y 510/2016 del Consejo Nacional de Salud.A doença de Alzheimer apresenta-se como uma forma de demência que afeta o idoso e compromete sobremaneira sua integridade física, mental e social, acarretando em necessidade de cuidados cada vez mais complexos. O presente trabalho propõe-se a verificar o conhecimento da equipe de enfermagem de uma instituição de longa permanência quanto aos cuidados com o idoso portador de Alzheimer, norteado pelo questionamento de qual o conhecimento da equipe de enfermagem quanto aos cuidados com idoso portador de Alzheimer. Trata-se de uma pesquisa exploratória, de caráter descritivo, de corte transversal e de abordagem qualitativa, realizada entre os profissionais de enfermagem, sendo enfermeiros, técnicos de enfermagem e auxiliares de enfermagem, atuantes dentro de uma Intuição de Longa Permanência para idosos, no município de Vitória da Conquista – BA. Foram investigadas as condições sócio-econômico-demográficas dos participantes, por uma análise qualitativa, e conforme o modelo de Bardin, avaliados os conhecimentos dos profissionais de Enfermagem quanto a DA, bem como o modo como aplicam a assistência de Enfermagem. Verifica-se que a equipe de enfermagem possui conhecimento à respeito das necessidades inerentes aos cuidados aos pacientes portadores da DA Foi possível concluir que há a necessidade de que a enfermagem possua conhecimentos técnico- científicos, para realizar os cuidados necessários e específicos para com os pacientes portadores da DA, favorecendo, deste modo, a distinção das complicações e permitindo o planejamento de estratégias no cuidado.
