Impasses and perspectives in the context of the full-time school: an analysis from the student's view

Resumo: Full-time education, considered as a means to obtain quality education, has been the subject of major studies and discussions in recent years in our country, due to the search for commitment to an integral education of students. The discussion around this teaching modality is due to its effectiveness in terms of teaching and learning, as well as human formation, fundamental requirements for the universalization of a quality public school. In this context, this article aims to investigate the potential and challenges of full-time school in the view of students who are linked to educational institutions that offer this modality. Through a qualitative and quantitative approach, an online questionnaire was applied to 150 students, enrolled in the three grades of high school in two full-time schools, one in Ceará State and another in Goiás State, who pointed out positive and negative aspects regarding this school modality. Through the analysis of obtained data, it was possible to infer that, even with promising results, this educational modality still inspires attention in its consolidation, given the need for a joint participation of the entire school community in order to ensure an accessible education for all. From the student perspective, the full-time school is a center of opportunities.

From the student perspective, the full-time school is a center of opportunities.Considerada como un medio para obtener una educación de calidad, la educación a tiempo completo ha sido objeto de importantes estudios y debates en los últimos años en nuestro país, debido a la búsqueda del compromiso con una educación integral de los estudiantes.  La discusión sobre esta modalidad de enseñanza se debe a su eficacia en términos de enseñanza y aprendizaje, así como a la formación humana, requisitos fundamentales para la universalización de una escuela pública de calidad. En este contexto, este artículo tiene como objetivo investigar el potencial y los desafíos de la escuela a tiempo completo en la vista de los estudiantes que están vinculados a instituciones educativas que ofrecen dicha modalidad. Por lo medio de un abordaje cualitativo y cuantitativo, se aplicó un examen on line a 150 estudiantes inscritos en los tres grados de la escuela secundaria de tiempo completo, uno en Ceará y otro en Goiás, que señalaron aspectos positivos y negativos en respecto a esta modalidade de la escuela. A través del análisis de los datos obtenidos, fue posible inferir que, incluso con resultados prometedores, este tipo de modalidad educativa todavía inspira atención en su consolidación dada la necesidad de una participación conjunta de toda la comunidad escolar para garantizar una educación accesible para todas. Bajo la mirada de los estudiantes, la escuela de tiempo completo es un centro de oportunidades.Considerada como um meio para a obtenção de uma educação de qualidade, a educação em tempo integral vem sendo alvo de grandes estudos e discussões, nos últimos anos em nosso país, devido a busca pelo comprometimento com uma formação integral dos estudantes. A discussão em torno dessa modalidade de ensino se dá por sua eficácia quanto ao ensino e a aprendizagem, bem como à formação humana, requisitos fundamentais para a universalização de uma escola pública de qualidade. Nessa conjuntura, este artigo tem como proposta investigar as potencialidades e os desafios da escola de tempo integral na visão dos discentes que estão vinculados às instituições de ensino que ofertam tal modalidade. Por meio de uma abordagem quali-quantitativa, foi aplicado um questionário online a 150 estudantes, matriculados nas três séries do ensino médio em duas escolas de tempo integral, uma no Ceará e outra em Goiás, que apontaram aspectos positivos e negativos quanto a essa modalidade escolar. Por meio da análise dos dados obtidos, foi possível inferir que, mesmo apresentando resultados promissores, esse tipo de modalidade educacional ainda inspira atenção em sua consolidação, visto a necessidade de uma participação conjunta de toda a comunidade escolar para a garantia de uma educação acessível a todos.
