Perception of medicine studentes about remote learning in the context of social isolation

Resumo: Introduction: Infectious diseases are frequent challenges for public health worldwide, the pandemic COVID-19 has provoked the use of remote technologies in teaching and has changed the way of educating. Objectives: Evaluate the perception of medical students regarding remote learning during social isolation, identify their main difficulties and compare performance with classroom teaching. Methods: Public opinion field research, with a descriptive quantitative approach and cross-sectional design. Results: The average ranking is 3.10 at the classroom teaching and 1.43 at the remote learning demonstrates a difficulty for students to follow an organized routine at the remote learning. When asked about the focus during classes, the classroom teaching modality obtained an average ranking of 2.21 and an remote learning of 1.85. Discussion: Focus and attendance of medical students in remote activities were compromised. The results showed a decrease in the taste for classes and exhaustion with the remote learning. Conclusion: There was a decrease at the performance in relation to classroom teaching, tiredness, difficulty in organizing and increased anxiety.

Objetivos: Evaluar la percepción de los estudiantes de medicina sobre el aprendizaje a distancia durante el aislamiento social, identificar sus principales dificultades y comparar el desempeño de los estudiantes con la enseñanza presencial. Métodos: Investigación de campo de opinión pública, con enfoque cuantitativo descriptivo y diseño transversal. Resultados: La clasificación promedio de 3.10 en la enseñanza presencial y 1.43 en el aprendizaje a distancia demuestra que los estudiantes tienen dificultades para seguir una rutina organizada en el aprendizaje a distancia. Cuando se le preguntó sobre el enfoque durante las clases, la modalidad de enseñanza presencial obtuvo un puntaje promedio de 2.21 y el aprendizaje a distancia de 1.85. Discusión: A través del estudio, se pudo constatar que el enfoque y la asistencia de los estudiantes de medicina a las actividades remotas se vieron comprometidos. Los resultados también mostraron una disminución en el gusto por las clases y un mayor agotamiento con el cambio al aprendizaje a distancia. Conclusión: hubo una disminución del rendimiento en relación a la enseñanza presencial, fatiga, dificultad para organizarse y aumento de la ansiedad.Introdução: As doenças infecciosas são frequentes desafios para a saúde pública mundial, a pandemia COVID-19 tem provocado o uso de tecnologias remotas no ensino e modificou a forma de educar. Objetivos: Avaliar a percepção dos acadêmicos de medicina quanto à aprendizagem remota durante o isolamento social, identificar suas principais dificuldades e comparar o desempenho dos alunos com ensino presencial. Métodos: Pesquisa de campo de opinião pública, com abordagem quantitativa de caráter descritivo e delineamento transversal. Resultados: O ranking médio de 3,10 no ensino presencial e 1,43 na aprendizagem remota demonstra uma dificuldade dos acadêmicos em seguir uma rotina organizada na aprendizagem remota. Quando questionados em relação ao foco durante as aulas, a modalidade de ensino presencial obteve um ranking médio de 2,21 e a aprendizagem remota de 1,85. Discussão: Através do estudo, pôde-se perceber que o foco e assiduidade dos acadêmicos de medicina nas atividades remotas foram comprometidos. Os resultados também evidenciaram a diminuição do gosto pelas aulas e uma maior exaustão com a mudança para a aprendizagem remota.
