Resumo: Interprofessional Education (IPE) is characterized by learning two or more professions with, for and about the other. Its aim is to improve teamwork collaboration and the quality of care. The objective of the study was to analyze the perceptions of professors and students about IPE in the professional training process of an undergraduate course in Physiotherapy at a university in western Santa Catarina. This is a qualitative study, of the case study type, whose data collection instrument was an interview with professors and a focus group with students. The study population consisted of the coordinator, professors and students of the Physiotherapy Undergraduate Course at a community university in western Santa Catarina, totaling 20 participants. The analysis was performed based on thematic content analysis. After analysis, it was observed the need to expand IPE between courses, develop collaborative and teamwork skills, plan IPE in an integrated way and organize a curriculum for IPE, and finally, expand the teaching workload with a focus on the implementation of interprofessionality. With this, it was possible to observe that in this course the IPE is being implemented with specific actions, in a limited way. It was observed that IPE is an important strategy in developing a professional profile for teamwork.
