Productive, morfhogenic and structural characteristics of Brachiaria brizantha cultivars grown in two types of soil

Resumo: The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of two distinct soils on the productive, morphogenic and structural characteristics of two cultivars of Brachiaria brizantha. The experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design with three replications. The treatments consisted of two cultivars (Piatã and Marandu) and two soils (Cambissolo and Argisolo), in a 2 x 2 factorial arrangement. There was no interaction (P>0.05) between the factors. Soil type and cultivar did not affect (P>0.05) the morphogenic and structural characteristics of the grasses. There was an effect (P<0.05) of soil type and cultivar on forage yield characteristics. Plant height and dry matter yield were higher in Cambisol (28.37 cm and 4.31 g/pot, respectively). Among cultivars, the highest height was observed in piatã grass (27.0 cm), while marandu grass showed higher tillering (20.33 tillers/pot). Tiller population density and leaf/stem ratio were not affected (P>0.05) by soil type. Grasses had higher growth and were more productive when grown in Cambisol. The cv. Marandu presented higher tillering in detriment of the smaller growth in height in relation to the cv. Piatã.

Piatã.El objetivo fue evaluar el efecto de dos suelos diferentes sobre las caracteristicas productivas, morfogenico y estructurales de dos cultivares de Brachiaria brizantha. El experimento se realizó en un diseño completamente al azar, con tres repeticiones. Los tratamientos consistieron en dos cultivares (Piatã y Marandu) y dos suelos (Cambissolo y Argisolo), en un arreglo factorial 2 x 2. No hubo interacción (P> 0.05) entre los factores. El tipo de suelo y cultivar no afectó (P> 0.05) las características morfogénicas y estructurales de los pastos. Hubo un efecto (P <0.05) del tipo de suelo y cultivar sobre las características productivas de los forrajes. La altura de la planta y la producción de materia seca fueron mayores en Cambisolo (28.37 cm y 4.31 g/maceta, respectivamente). Entre los cultivares, la mayor altura se observó en la hierba piatã (27.0 cm), mientras que la hierba marandu mostró la mayor macolla (20.33 perchas/maceta). La densidad poblacional y la relación hoja/tallo no se vieron afectadas (P> 0.05) por el tipo de suelo. Los pastos obtuvieron un mayor crecimiento y fueron más productivos cuando se cultivaron en Cambisolo. El cv. Marandu mostró mayor macollamiento a expensas de un menor crecimiento en altura en relación con el cv. Piatã.Objetivou-se avaliar o efeito de dois solos distintos sobre as características produtivas, morfogênicas e estruturais de duas cultivares de Brachiaria brizantha. O experimento foi conduzido em delineamento inteiramente ao acaso, com três repetições. Os tratamentos consistiam em duas cultivares (Piatã e Marandu) e dois solos (Cambissolo e Argissolo), em um arranjo fatorial 2 x 2. Não houve interação (P>0,05) entre os fatores. O tipo de solo e a cultivar não afetaram (P>0,05) as características morfogênicas e estruturais das gramíneas. Houve efeito (P<0,05) do tipo de solo e da cultivar sobre as características produtivas das forrageiras. A altura da planta e a produção de matéria seca foram maiores no Cambissolo (28,37 cm e 4,31 g/vaso, respectivamente). Entre as cultivares, a maior altura foi observada no capim-piatã (27,0 cm), enquanto o capim-marandu apresentou maior perfilhamento (20,33 perfilhos/vaso). A densidade populacional de perfilhos e a relação lâmina foliar/colmo não foram afetadas (P>0,05) pelo tipo de solo. As gramíneas obtiveram maior crescimento e mostraram-se mais produtivas quando cultivadas no Cambissolo. A cv. Marandu apresentou maior perfilhamento em detrimento do menor crescimento em altura em relação à cv.
