Resumo: O presente artigo reflete sobre o processo de construção e de reconstrução do profissionalismo docente. Parte-se de uma alusão histórica e se lhe acrescentam outros elementos relevantes para formar e interpretar o conceito de profissionalidade. Esses elementos são a feminilização, o idealismo, a vocação e a divinização do ato pedagógico. Finalmente, enfatiza-se a importância da formação no processo de construção da imagem e da profissionalização docentes.Palavras-chave: profissionalização docente; vocação; formação; idealismo.Abstract: This article reflects about the process of construction and reconstruction of teaching professionalism. It starts with a historical allusion and adds other relevant elements to form and interpret the concept of professionalism. These elements are the feminization, idealism, vocation and deification of the pedagogical act. Finally, we emphasize the importance of training in the construction of the image and professionalism of teachers.Key-words: teaching professionalization, vocation, training, idealism
