Landscape units and temporal dynamics of use and soil cover in the Rio das Pedras watershed, Goiás State, Brasil

Resumo: The objective this paper was to evaluate the relationship of the physical environment with the vegetation cover, through landscape units. The study was developed in the Rio das Pedras watershed, in the state Goiás state, based by an integrated landscape approach. For the definition of landscape units, geological characteristics were considered, geomorphological, pedological and morphometric features of the watershed. For the definition of landscape units, were considered the geological, geomorphological, pedological and morphometric characteristics of the watershed. In the temporal analysis of landuse and landcover, the years 1988, 1998, 2008 and 2018 were considered. In the most eroded geological units, flatter topographies were formed and, in the most resistant structures, reliefs with greater slope. These conditions influenced the dynamics of landuse, especially agriculture, activity that presented the greatest growth in the period, present in landscape units with flatter soils, such as Oxisols. Pasture is the activity that occupies the largest areas throughout the analyzed period, being present in all units, but showing reduction in occupied areas, being then replaced by mechanized agriculture. Cerrado (Brazilian Savana) coverage has not shown significant reduction in the thirty years, since in the first mapping the anthropized areas already represented 77% of the basin area, leaving only fragments of forest formation.

Cerrado (Brazilian Savana) coverage has not shown significant reduction in the thirty years, since in the first mapping the anthropized areas already represented 77% of the basin area, leaving only fragments of forest formation.El objetivo de este trabajo fue evaluar la interrelación del entorno físico con la cubierta vegetal, combinada con la dinámica temporal del uso del suelo, a lo largo de las unidades de paisaje.  El estudio se aplicó en la cuenca hidrográfica del Rio das Pedras, en el estado de Goiás, guiado por un enfoque de análisis de paisaje integrado.  Para la definición de las unidades de paisaje, se consideraron las características geológicas, geomorfológicas, pedológicas y morfométricas de la cuenca.  En el análisis temporal del uso/cobertura del suelo, se consideraron los años 1988, 1998, 2008 y 2018. En las unidades geológicas más diseccionadas, se formaron topografías más planas y en las unidades más resistentes, topografías más inclinadas.  Estas condiciones influyeron en la dinámica del uso de la tierra, especialmente en la agricultura, una actividad que mostró el mayor crecimiento en el período, y que está presente en unidades de paisaje con suelos más planos como los oxisoles. El pastoreo es la actividad que ocupa las áreas más grandes a lo largo del período analizado, estando presente en todas las unidades, pero mostrando una reducción en las áreas ocupadas, siendo luego reemplazado por agricultura mecanizada.  La cobertura de Cerrado no mostró ninguna reducción significativa en los treinta años, ya que en el primer mapeo las áreas antropizadas ya representaban el 77% del área de la cuenca, dejando solo fragmentos de Cerrado y Mata Seca.  O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a inter-relação do meio físico com a cobertura vegetal, aliada à dinâmica temporal de uso do solo, por meio das unidades de paisagem. O estudo foi aplicado na Bacia Hidrográfica do Rio das Pedras, no estado de Goiás, norteado por uma abordagem de análise integrada da paisagem. Para a definição das unidades de paisagens, foram consideradas as características geológicas, geomorfológicas, pedológicas e morfométricas da bacia. Na análise temporal de uso/cobertura do solo, foram considerados os anos de 1988, 1998, 2008 e 2018. Nas unidades geológicas mais dissecadas, se formaram topografias mais planas e, nas unidades mais resistentes, topografias mais inclinadas. Estas condições influenciaram a dinâmica de uso do solo, especialmente a agricultura, atividade que apresentou o maior crescimento no período, presente nas unidades de paisagem com solos mais planos, como os Latossolos. A pastagem é a atividade que ocupa as maiores áreas em todo o período analisado, estando presente em todas as unidades, mas apresentando redução em áreas ocupadas, sendo então substituída pela agricultura mecanizada.
