Conjugalidades e trabalho: desemprego, vivências profissionais, vulnerabilidades e proteção

This research proposes the study of three aspects of human life and its relationships, namely: work, unemployment and marital relationships. Considering the complexity of the contemporary subject, the marital experience is influenced by cultural, economic, political and historical aspects interconnected with each other and with other dimensions of their life. Based on complex systemic thinking, of the author Edgar Morin, the relationships between work, the phenomenon of unemployment and their impact on marital experiences were addressed, considering their historical, sociological and psychic dimensions. To this end, we adopted two axes of investigation. Initially, a bibliographic study was carried out in national and international literature (publications in English and Spanish), on work, unemployment and marital relations, using materials such as: books, theses, dissertations and scientific articles (Study 1). The second axis involved conducting interviews, using semi-structured scripts, with couples (officially married or in common-law marriage) as follows: group 1 – five couples with both spouses employed; group 2 – five couples with at least one of the spouses unemployed. For the data processing procedure, we used the conte nt analysis technique, and the theoretical framework applied to the analysis was systemic complex thinking. As a results, in first study it became clear the interrelationship that exists between the themes of work, unemployment and marital relations, and that the subject cannot be seen at in a fragmented way, making it necessary to look at macrosocial contexts, something that is proven by study 2 , which produced valuable reports that are very coherent with the content of study 1. Another important finding of this work was the giant influence of gender issues in the present discussion. Carrying out the research was justified by the perceived need for a scientific look at the themes 12 presented, considering the micro and macrosocial aspects and not losing sight of the cultural, political, historical and psychological aspects involved in the processes.
