Resumo: | Nature of Science-NdC is an age-old topic in teaching research, one of the key goals of the science curriculum, as well as being a fundamental part of scientific literacy. Despite the number of publications about the NdC is increasing as the years go by, the literature on science teaching has pointed the area of Biology as the one with the lowest production and its teaching materials pointed out as indicating a distorted view of the NdC. In this work, the Scielo and Google Scholar databases were used for a literature review. Only works published in journals and referring to Brazilian experiences related to Biology Teaching were considered. Data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel and Gephi software and all texts underwent a Bardin's Content Analysis. 53 titles were obtained, divided among 33 journals, 46 research institutions from 17 different Brazilian states and two large groups of categories totaling nine subcategories. The survey indicated a production with a growth trend and concentrated in the South-Southeast Brazilian geographic regions axis, mainly approaching the students' conceptions. The use of History and Philosophy of Science in teaching was pointed out as an efficient way to improve students' conceptions of NdC, and the use of films in didactic approaches is also recommended. The space for exploring new research methodologies for science concepts and the development of teaching materials seems to be a fertile field for studies in the area of NdC aimed at teaching biology. |
