Resumo: It is desired by the most majority of surgeons, in surgical procedures, biomaterials that offer simplicity and predictability for a wide variety of defects, reducing the risk of postoperative complications. a dental extraction procedure with simple, effective and economical regenerative therapy would be beneficial not only to clinicians, but mainly to patients. Currently, the L-PRF is highlighted, in order to accelerate healing and reduce these sequelae. Many authors claim their qualities as an autologous fibrin matrix, where growth factors, cytokines, and leukocytes are trapped. The various described qualities of these clots have promoted, in the last decade, several researches in order to better know the effectiveness of this material, but the results are still quite controversial. In this context, it is intended with this study to obtain information about L-PRF in tissue regeneration, inflammation control and postoperative complications. The PubMed and Scielo databases were consulted, in addition to clinical articles related to the subject, selecting references from 2006 to 2017 with the terms platelet rich fibrin, regeneration, platelet concentrates, third molar included surgery.

Um procedimento de extração dentária com uma terapia regenerativa simples, eficaz e econômica, seria benéfico não somente para os clínicos, mas principalmente para os pacientes. Atualmente, destaca-se o L-PRF, no intuito de acelerar a cicatrização e reduzir essas sequelas. Muitos autores afirmam suas qualidades como uma matriz de fibrina autóloga, onde estão aprisionados fatores de crescimento, citocinas e leucócitos. As várias qualidades descritas destes coágulos fomentaram, nesta última década, várias pesquisas no sentido de melhor se conhecer a eficácia deste material, porém os resultados ainda são bastante controversos. Neste contexto, pretende-se com este estudo, obter informações sobre o L-PRF na regeneração dos tecidos, controle da inflamação e complicações pós-operatórias.
