Resumo: The present work is a field study on the kinds of sealants utilized in shallow foundations in Palhoça. The study aims to better understand the construction techniques chosen by interviewed participants, explaining these techniques and their technical features. The results show the percentage of constructions that utilize some kind of waterproofing technique, as well as the use percentage for each of them, in order to trace a profile of the Palhoça region regarding the use of waterproofing techniques. The present work also introduces a waterproofing technique appropriate for shallow foundations, one that is found in the market and attends all requirements stipulated by construction standards.

Através da pesquisa busca-se entender as técnicas construtivas escolhidas pelos entrevistados, explanando todas e suas características. Os resultados mostram os percentuais de construções que possuem alguma técnica impermeabilizante nas fundações e os percentuais de uso de cada uma, traçando o perfil da região em relação a utilização ou não destas técnicas.
