This undergraduate thesis has as its major objective to analyze how a hunger scenario affects the international system’s security, once food safety is a strong stabilizer factor and the shake in its management can directly affect the modus operandis of the global community, triggering a big change in the balance of power. It’s useful to mention the extreme relevancy of this study to the academy, to the experts in international relations and to the community as well, given the way the food geopolitics is structured. Big corporations achieved the international actor’s status and for that, are able to manipulate state’s behavior in order to achieve their goals and maintain their survival. This scenario makes us walk in a tenuous line between safety and war in search of the essential resources for the maintenance of human life on the planet. The methodology of this research is naturally basic, its approach is qualitative, and regarding its objectives it is bibliographic, documentary, exploratory and descriptive. Besides, in order to achieve the main goal, two specifics points were structured as guides of this thesis, being them: conceptualize the expression ‘geopolitics’ and ‘food safety’; present how the differences between countries reflect in agriculture and food security; and, understand, from cases, the interference of the geopolitics of food in the security of the international system. For a better understanding, this paper is divided into three sections: the first one will approach the concepts of the first specific point; the second one will introduce, in light of the concepts already discussed, the differences between central and peripheral countries that implies in the farming and the food security; and the last one will present cases that enable the practical understanding of the hunger and food security effects in the international community. Moreover, it must also be said that the result obtained with this undergraduate thesis is the better organization of a thought that links the food industry to the international safety, henceforth the power correlation that set the guidelines of power on its space dimension.
