Resumo: Sanitary sewage is one of the services that constitute basic sanitation and contributes to forming a set of measures which offer a better quality of life to the population. A sanitation system which conducts sewage treatment adequately is also relevant to environmental effects. The present study case had as an initiative the evaluation of the current situation of the individual sewage treatment system of the University Campus of Universidade do Sul de Santa Catarina – Unisul, in Tubarão - SC – Bloco G Cettal, considering the date it was built, comparing the existing sizing to the demand generated due to the increase of the current population. As a consequence of the smell coming from the sewage that the block presents in the schedules of May flow of people, it was relevant to analyze and present, through data collection and re-dimensioning, the possible causes of this problem. Hence, the intention to present the actual size of the septic tanks and anaerobic filters that are currently in operation, where it was possible to verify that the system does not meet the existing population. With the analysis carried out, it can be concluded that the system has a direct influence with the stench problems, and consequently, a new design has been presented so that it can meet the current population. The result was two propositions of solutions satisfying the volume of 79,47m³.
