This research had as general objective to identify the impacts caused by the interdiction of runway in Brazilian airports. Taking into account the general objective and the specific objectives, the type of research chosen to develop the relevant papers was the exploratory characteristic, with a documental procedure and a quantitative approach. Online media documents, regulations and reports were analyzed for the research to be proven and the immediate need for investments, repairs and constructions in the current Brazilian airport infrastructure is required. ANAC annually publishes data on the movement of the aeronautical sector, data that showed a growth in the last years and a strong promising tendency to the sector in the next years. During the research, it was noted that the development of the airport infrastructure did not follow the demand demanded in the airports as it should, leaving them limited to the next years. At the end of the survey, it is concluded that, when a runway is banned from an aerodrome in the event of floods or aircraft accidents or other pertinent reasons, they cause delays in landings and take-offs, financial losses to companies that operate transportation, alteration of and the temporary installation of chaos, factors that will 'tarnish' the organizational and operational image of air transport, discouraging the user to use the sector. With this, it is necessary to build viable alternatives for the smooth running of the air transport service.
