This thesis refers to the conclusion of the architecture and urbanism bachelor consisting in the presentation of an architectural schematic design of a funeral memorial located in Palhoça, Santa Catarina. To achieve this result, the work includes a theoretical study on the theme, its social and cultural relations, reporting the prejudice that the mortuary theme carries and, therefore, the need to overcome this fear through a space more immaterial and sensitive to users, since we, humans distinguish ourselves from any other species by the sensitivity to things around us. Also, in order for the project to be related to the site in which it is inserted, a study was conducted on the projects localization and its constraints, showing that, despite the constructive potential of the site, nature protection areas prevent this from happening. Taking advantage of this, the wealthy landscape is an essential element in creating a more empathic atmosphere for those who are suffering from the loss. Finally, the proposal of the space is explained, raising concepts and metaphors that symbolize the pain of loss and that allow users to have their moment of mourning, and above all the project intends to mitigate this moment bringing the idea of continuity of the one that is gone.
