The district of Campeche, located in the municipality of Florianópolis / SC, underwent an intense urban growth process from the 1980s. In large part, this process was disorderly and originated from the implantation of irregular subdivisions, causing impact on nature due to expansion over previously vegetated areas, decharacterizing or destroying ecosystems. In the last decades, the urbanization process was intensified and aggravated by real estate speculation, putting the remaining vegetated areas in danger of extinction. To support the understanding of the impacts caused by urban sprawl, we analyzed theoretical references that explain the relationship between the urban environment and nature, the importance of public space systems, landscape and landscaping. Likewise, how the occupation process and legislation influenced and influenced the physical-environmental characteristics of Lagoa Pequena and its surroundings and what are their potentialities, determined by urban-landscape reading and analysis of design references. The Urban Park Proposal for the Small Lagoon presents the importance of the relationship between man and nature, of public space systems as structuring of the urban fabric and of environmental preservation as a guarantee of ecosystem conservation, environmental regeneration and quality of life of man.
