The following paper theme discuss a qualification proposal for the seafront of Abraão, Furnas Beach, in Florianopolis. The object refers to the urban transformations, the development of the cities and the main currents of urbanistic thought. From the theoretical analysis, herewith the study of the area for understanding the needs and potentials, proposals will be developed for the qualification of the Orla. As a theoretical reference, Jane Jacobs lessons were taken as a basis. Moreover, as a project referencial, were used China and Canada. The assumption that the pedestrian is the lead figure in the hierarchy of the urban space. Therefore, the final guidelines aim to promote comfort for the individual, through a compact neighborhood, short and permeable blocks, mixed uses and urban mobility, wich gives priority to pedestrian and cyclist. It is also proposed the resumption of maritime activity, with the implementation of waterway transport. Keywords: Urbanism, qualification, urban spaces and mobility.
