This research has the general objective of examining the causes and behavior that contribute to the reduction of aeronautical accidents resulting from the controlled collision with the ground - CFIT, analyzing accidents where this cause was identified and evaluating the factors that contributed to its occurrence, demonstrating that the human factor is decisive because it implies in wrong decisions and behaviors, often counteracting the active and available technological resources during the flight. The present research is characterized as explanatory, delineated through bibliographical sources, documentary and case studies, obtained from official sources of aeronautical accident investigation bodies, as well as citations of works and articles. The approach will be qualitative and the data analyzed will conclude that the human factor is determinant for the occurrence of CFIT accidents, concluding that the mitigation of this event is necessary and does not raise the situational awareness through technological resources, permanent training and an elementary education that comprehensively addresses the problem.
