Resumo: Aesthetics has been the target of demand by society in general. The evolution of dentistry, techniques and materials, enable the dental surgeon to perform minimally invasive restorations, one of them being called "ceramic laminates". Based on this, the objective of this literature review was to bring relevant information about preparation for ceramic laminates, such as: types of preparations, the possibility of making that without performing dental preparation, advantages and disadvantages of using the preparation or non-preparation technique. For this, the literature review was performed using the data source for the research books and articles extracted from the Google Scholar, SCIELO, PUBMED and MEDLINE databases. It was possible to conclude that the current restorative dentistry concept advises that, for any type of procedure, the professional must always choose the most conservative treatment, that is, with greater preservation of the healthy dental structure.

A evolução da odontologia, técnicas e materiais, possibilitam o cirurgião dentista realizar restaurações minimamente invasivas, um deles é denominado como “laminados cerâmicos”. Com base nisso, o objetivo desta revisão de literatura foi trazer informações relevantes acerca de Preparo para laminados cerâmicos, tais como: tipos de preparos, possibilidade da confecção de laminados cerâmicos sem a realização de preparo dental, vantagens e desvantagens da realização da técnica de preparo ou não preparo. Para tal, foi realizada uma revisão de literatura utilizando como fonte de dados para a pesquisa livros e artigos extraídos das bases Google Acadêmico, SCIELO, PUBMED e MEDLINE.
