The environmental impact of construction activity has gained increasing importance in recent years, with this it is necessary to develop new technologies and constructive processes that aim at the economic, social and environmental sustainability. Brazil in sustainable construction is still undeveloped as it becomes necessary programs that encourage market especially in environmental certification for buildings. In this sense, the objective of this work is to propose a methodology for the elaboration of two environmental certification seals for residential works, one for the application during the construction phase of the building and the other for the use phase of the work by the client. The study is presented in two chapters, the first dealing with a bibliographical review on civil construction and environmental sustainability, and the second chapter addresses the methodology and proposal for the two seals to certify buildings. The seal proposed methodology for building certification has simple criteria and parameters and objectives for the development of projects and evaluation of the work. While the seal of certification of condominium is a seal that proposes nothing more than an action among residents of the building, making sustainability as a reference within the condominium which contains criteria for the condominium to follow and ensure certification.
