Historically, the family has been defined from its functions. It is pointed as elementkey not only with respect to the “survival” of the individuals, but also with respect to the protection and the socialization of its components, transmission of the cultural capital, the economic capital and the property of the group, as well as of the relations of sort and solidarity between generations. Despite determined phenomena as the increase of divorces and separations, the interfamilial violence and others come exciting some questionings on the cent alidade and the future of the family in the societies social contemporaries, its responsibilities and its functions does not seem to have lost the relevance, being that the agreement on family cannot be reduced to the effect of economic or demographic phenomena. In this way, the present study it presents the characterization of the organization, theoretical referential on family, the Program Putting into motion the Family, implemented in the institution IDES/PROMENOR, place of period of training of the authors, as well as the reality of the beneficiary families by means of the identification of its necessities and profile later to stimulate activities of attendance, orientation, guiding, social support, professional qualification, partner-educative activities among others.
